The Cellar Door & Food in Bloom Present a Special Winemaker’s Dinner featuring Cristina Gemaniani and wines from Emilia Romagna with cuisine by Chef Ron Baker
Thursday, April 19th, 2007 Please join us Thursday April 19th for the first in a series of extraordinary wine dinners at the Daily Café South Waterfront showcasing the talents of executive chef Ron Baker from Food in Bloom Catering and the wines of Cristina Gemaniani from Fattoria Zerbina. Cristina comes to us from Faenza located outside of Bologna in the heart of Italy’s culinary capital and Portland’s sister city. Cristina’s 28-hectare Zerbina estate is one of the most exciting in Italy for Sangiovese production. Her talents in the vineyard and cellar result in some of the most interesting and progressive expressions of Tre Bicchieri award-winning Sangiovese di Romagna. Ron Baker comes to us from New Zealand by way of an impressive resume which includes cooking for numerous Heads of State and royals like Charles and Diana. Fortunately for us, we don’t have to be royalty to enjoy his culinary offerings this April. Joining Ron in the kitchen is Food in Bloom’s award-winning chocolatier Mark Omafray who will pair our evening's sweets with Cristina's rare, award-winning dessert wines. 2004Fattoria di Zerbina Trebbiano * 2004 Fattoria di Zerbina Trebbiano * 2004 Fattoria di Zerbina Sangiovese Ceregio * 2001 Fattoria di Zerbina Ravenna Rosso * 2001 Fattoria di Zerbina Scacco Matto * 2001 Fattoria di Zerbina Arroco Space is limited for this exciting event.
