2015 RESONANCE PINOT NOIR
WILLAMETTE VALLEY
[reg. $47.99]
SPECIAL - $27.99 BTL./$167.94 - SIX PK
93 PTS - WINE SPECTATOR

A limited time, smashing deal on a prolific Oregon Pinot made by a French master! One of the most exciting developments in Oregon has been the acquisition of the superb Resonance vineyard by Louis Jadot from Burgundy. Even more thrilling is that longtime Jadot frontman/winemaker, Jacques Lardiere is in Oregon and overseeing the viticultural program.

Sourced from two estate vineyards, Resonance (Yamhill-Carlton) and Decouverte (Dundee Hills and formerly known as Gehrts Vineyard), this wine is such an expression of Oregon terroir with Jadot and Lardiere’s deft touch. The new 2015 is quite an impressive leap from the delicious 2014. ‘Supple and elegantly structured, with expressive raspberry and orange zest aromas and polished flavors that pick up depth and momentum toward a spicy finish. – 93 POINTS – WINE SPECTATOR.’ I recommend drinking and enjoying this Pinot through 2026.

2014 CHATEAU ST-ANDRE CORBIN
ST-GEORGES SAINT-EMILION
$19.99 BTL./$239.88 CASE

The satellite of St-Émilion on the northern side known as St-Georges St-Émilion provides plenty of knockout, age-worthy Bordeaux that really go for a song. Only 8 producers are in this tiny region whose wines can compete with Grand Cru St-Émilion at twice the price and more, especially those on the south side of the appellation.

St-André Corbin vineyard sites have existed and have been farmed to make wine since the 4th century. Impressive from start to finish due to 55-60 year old vines, there is over-reaching ripeness and generosity and warmth. Plenty of St-Émilion limestone qualities on the nose along with raspberry fruit and enticing tones of espresso; authentic, flavorful and forward along with plenty of clarity, this wine provides a hell of a lot of pleasure along with deceptive backbone for aging, especially on the classically firm finish. Not undrinkable now with a good decanting, however it'll develop nicely for a decade from vintage date.

2015 SCAIA VENETO ROSSO
$11.99 BTL./$143.88 CASE

An apex buy offering done by the superb Amarone and Valpolicella producer, Sant' Antonio this is a cleanly-made, fresh, fun wine that is made from 100% Corvina, the main grape that goes into the blends of Amarone and Valpolicella.

Medium-bodied with notes of ripe red currant, Bing cherry, earthy minerals, violet and a hint of almond, this velvety, smooth and hearty red is perfect for parpardelle with braised meats, red sauce, stewed poultry with green olives, tomatoes and capers, or a simple take-out Margarita pizza with Italian sausage and pepperoni.

2015 ALTOS LAS HORMIGAS
MALBEC 'TERROIRS'
$16.99 BTL./$203.88 CASE

Wine aficionado Thomas Jefferson once said, "I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing…" This sentence has often been misquoted, as "every generation needs a new revolution"; either way there is something new brewing with Altos las Hormigas.

Beginning with the 2012 vintage wines are now aged in concrete and large, untoasted wood foudres, providing the real mission, a renewed focus on terroir. The newly arrived 2015 possesses a very captivating nose with creme de mure scents and serious minerality to go along with the vibrant cherry pit aspects. Lovely underlay of nutmeg, turned earth and subtle coffee notes. Quite dense and very old-viney with high elevation freshness for most excellent balance. Takes off like a rocket on the superb, saturated finish. This is top-notch, undervalued juice that will drink well for 4-6 years.

2016 PERRUSSET MACON-VILLAGES
$16.99 BTL./$203.88 CASE

While this French Chardonnay is not exactly Meursault or Montrachet, there is a sneaky intensity to this delightful white Burgundy from just north of Lyon.

Beautiful aromatics of wet stone, mineral and green apple, it continues in the mouth with great tropical fruit and richness. The French would often call this a lovely lunch wine, and while most of us have a Coke with lunch, we think we can covert some of you after a sip of this. A great food wine, this has the richness and intensity to stand up to many chicken and pork dishes.

2014 GRAMERCY CELLARS
CABERNET SAUVIGNON 'LOWER EAST'
$31.99 BTL./$383.88 CASE

Never one to compromise and envisioned by Greg Harrington to be a smaller brother to his more expensive Cab, the Lower East is a different expression and will overtake many other examples in this area that are significantly more expensive!

Using barrels and other vineyard sites that don't make it into the "big brother", there is a hell of a lot of excellent fruit here. Resounding and expressive of Washington earth tones, black cherry, Havanas, eastern spices, graphite and alluring ripeness without being doused with a bunch of overblown oak. Developing tea leaf aspects along with dark chocolate as it unfolds, this is lush, poised, cushiony and having over-delivering depth and breadth of flavor and a firmly stacked finish that's vivid, steely, drawn-out and very Pauillac-inspired. Exquisite now and will age drink well through 2027.
