2016 VOLPAIA CHIANTI CLASSICO
$19.99 BTL./$239.88 CASE

Searching for 20 dollar Chianti Classico from the best producers is akin to Snoop Dogg giving up weed. FUHGEDDABOUTIT!

Castello di Volpaia is one of the giant names in Chianti. Perched outside of Radda in Chianti, Volpaia have long made sophisticated, very handsome Chianti. Traditionally-made Chianti, this is undoubtedly one of the finest Volpaia Chianti Classico Normalé that we have tasted! Maintaining the fragrant, perfumed floral traits that are what Radda in Chianti are all about, this wine has an extra level of intensity from the prime growing conditions in 2016.

Pretty and very savory Chianti highlighted by penetrating depth, red fruit characteristics and a generous finish that has an earthy purity along with roasted coffee/sage notes underneath. While it has always been delicious, the latest and greatest version of Volpaia's Chianti Classico is now one of THE spectacular values in all of Tuscany. If you love great Chianti, you will surely want to grab a box of this and drink it now through 2026.

2015 GRAMERCY CELLARS SYRAH
'LOWER EAST'
$22.99 BTL./$275.88 CASE

Lower East is a tribute to Walla Walla being in Lower East Washington and Gramercy Cellar and Rhone varietal stalwart Greg Harrington making his bones at Gramercy Tavern in New York. 2015 is a spectacularly structured and full vintage in Washington, but Gramercy wines are always in-check and very much in balance.

Exciting plum-pepper scents combine with smoked bacon, violet and underlying herbs and exotic spices roll from the glass and follow through to a texture that while deep and penetrating, carries terrific balance and smoky tones throughout. Long and lasting on the finish. Drink over the next 6-8 years.

2016 LAVANTUREAUX PETIT CHABLIS
$19.99 BTL./$239.88 CASE

The difference between Petit Chablis and Chablis isn't its size but its soil, P-Chablis is grown in Portlandian soil versus Kimmeridgian and the Lavantureaux family care about this wine as much as they do their Grand Cru Vaudesir.

2016 is a great vintage in this area and this wine is drinking extremely well. Perfumed flint, floral and with stylish underlying fruit. Excellent palate coverage is present in the mouth and deftly balances richness with brisk minerality. More stony aspects arrive as it opens and follows into a finish with persistence and character. Very likable and easy to latch on to. Quite a step up from many in this category, enjoy this white with oysters, mussels and especially fresh crab.
