Hot Sheets
Bricco Ciliegie is a site that has sand but what makes it very individual is the presence of limestone with some clay. Blitzing mineral and energy present with underlying scents of lemon and apricot and gentle touches of saline. The entry is round and expansive then picking up nerve and livewire character that lifts the wine and fills the mouth with joy. Kisses of honey and fennel beam on the finish, but what really sets it off is the stoniness and brilliant persistence. Again, I cannot say enough just how excited I am to feature this. We will also pour it next Friday December 14. Dungeness crab is coming and it will work with scallops or seabass. For the adventurous cook, try with a seafood risotto with asparagus.
2015 is a great Tuscan vintage and this one has taken full advantage of the splendor with subdued aromas of pomegranate, bing cherry, anisette, dried violets, sage, mineral and camphor. The single most impressive thing about this red is that the deep aromas present on the nose are echoed in the mouth, making it a truly deliciously and incredibly honest bottle of Tuscan red. Have this versatile Chianti with grilled or fried seafood dishes, hearty Bolognese and Reggiano. A great one to have around the house for any occasion, as it shows like filet mignon for ground beef prices. Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Seductive bubbles, yet full-flavored and sophisticated with a finish that soars into next week! Its excellent balance make it a top choice for the finest caviar or mushroom dishes, and on its own, you can indulge yourself on one of the richest, most incredibly rounded Champagnes that you have ever tasted. Nothing is more luxurious! Since it isn’t a vintage dated Champagne but is equally as luxurious, it always seems to be a price point lower. Lastly, this top notch Champagne has 97 points from Wine Enthusiast Magazine and with the lovely box and glassware that comes with it, makes a great gift.
