SYRAH 'SYROCCO'

A wine from the king of Crozes-Hermitage and one of his friends. Warm climate Syrah but done in a new world style. Plush Italian plum, inviting aromatic spices. Suprb depth and expansion and typical of Graillot, lots of vibrancy. Beautiful with stews or a lean beef tenderloin.

2016 GRAMERCY CELLARS
SYRAH 'LOWER EAST'
$23.99 BTL./$287.88 CASE

Wonderful gateway into this Washington stalwart’s Syrah wines. Not ooey, gooey, chewy and a boat plank of oak. Pure, Northern Rhone inspired juice. So much about aromatics and a texture that expands on the palate. Nicely positioned, combines blackberry and cherry pit with an abundance of pepper. Pretty above the Mendoza line for quality/price rapport.

2013 MATELLO 'FOOL'S JOURNEY'
$23.99 BTL./$287.88 CASE

Syrah from the Willamette Valley, specifically Deux Vert vineyard. Like Graillot and Gramercy, plenty of whole cluster. Augmented by 6% Viognier for acid and aromatic presence. Now six years old and offering what cool climate Syrah is all about. Red fruits, black olive, herbs, spices and underlying rose petal. Cool, elevated, brisk and showing smooth fruits in the mid-palate and finish.



The Cellar Door will be closed Monday October 14 and will reopen at 9:30 on Tuesday
