A public disclaimer, this is Karen’s favorite Cotes-du-Rhone and she will be skimming two cases off the top! Having worked with Cabasse wines for over a decade it is exciting to see how far they have progressed all while remaining one of the area’s great values.
Essence of the Southern Rhone Valley and blended with 80% Grenache & 20% Syrah from the famed village of Seguret. Serious depth here. Ethereal yet dense strawberry, blackberry, rosemary, smoke and Egyptian spices. A lovely presence of earth, hot stones and spice adds another level. Caressing, full palate that spreads out on the palate and picks up lift. Excellent flavors, persistence, and vintage character while never becoming burdensome. Given the pedigree of the land as well as the vintage, drink it over the next 6-8 years.

If you haven’t been notified, the hype is on for Oregon’s 2024s and the buzz is real, this is going to be a magical, all-time vintage. One of the first arrivals is Forager, from the Scenic Root Winegrowers who produce wine in Beaujolais, Sonoma, and for about a decade, here in Oregon.
Very primary plum and raspberry fruit around earth and herbs. In the mouth it is well rounded with balance and depth. The fruit is present but so is focus and finesse. Certainly not a juice box, this is a good barometer of what is to come. A fun, easy drinker to enjoy over the next 2-3 years.

Pouilly-Fume is less well known than its more famous neighbor of Sancerre. Although similarities usually outweigh the differences, Sancerre tends to have more ripe fruit while Pouilly-Fume often has more body weight, vivid acids and a smoky complexity and considered some of the world's greatest food wines.
So not to confuse with the six other Pouilly-Fume Domaines with the name Pabiot, the estate is officially named Domaine des Fines Caillottes after the white pebbles spread throughout the soils. Made without the use of oak, this French Sauvignon Blanc is tense, refined, dry and laden with multi-faceted citrus fruit like grapefruit and orange. The bottom line really is the soil responsible for defining the fruit and stony, flinty character throughout the wine. If you want something that will pair with any health-conscious seafood table, then this is the wine for you.

Not the oldest estate on Mt. Etna, but surely the most important influential due to Marc de Grazia being the first to make wines from single Contrada sites. The Etna Rosso is always one of our most poignant and popular offerings. 2023 was terrific but sadly, Mother Nature was a bit cranky, and the estate lost 40-70% of their fruit. Even up until 25 years ago, the grapes from Mt. Etna’s old vineyards were used for bulk wines. Instinctually knowing the enormous potential for these sites, Terre Nere immediately highlighted Mt. Etna's myriads of terroirs, both within the single contrada wines as well as this overachieving wine from a blend of sites.
98% Nerello Mascalese and 2% Nerello Cappucio, this wine is sensual, very Pinot-like in its appearance and finesse. Irresistible strawberries and currant shine while undertones of mint, spice, licorice and peony join in. Flavorful and harmonious, there is ample vivacity and suaveness to go along with deceptive depth and length.

One of our favorite summer wines has arrived…Over the last decade we have touted this white Rioja from old vines as a great every day, thirst-quenching number and 2024 continues this legacy and does not disappoint.
85% Viura and 15% Malvasia, this white wine tickles you in places that you did not know you had! Zingy, bursting lemon drop and mineral aromas carry over to the brilliantly detailed texture which exudes strong varietal character and thrilling persistence. You will want to drink multiple glasses of this regardless of what is on the table including seafood dishes or sheep milk cheeses.

Located in Puglia just south of Salento, wines from the small DOC of Copertino usually don't make it to our shores. With three hundred growers, the well-run cooperative Cantina Sociale dominates the production of this small region and this wine oozes old school, rustic Italy.
Mostly Negramaro with small dollops of Malvasia Nera and Montepulciano, this is a wine that takes me back. Roasted aromas of cherry, leather, spice, tangy earth, and orange peel follow into a dry, generous, plummy texture with telltale wild traits that marry well with classic tomato-based dishes, especially penne with a spicy arrabiata sauce or sausage pizza.

Also, from Puglia. Made from Primitivo, which along with Crljenak Kastelanski from Croatia, is genetically linked to Zinfandel. Although this red marches to the beat of its own drummer and that drummer is certainly not a pre-programmed drum machine!
Forward, chewy and delicious fun with dark berry fruit, roasted earth, peppery spice, amare, tobacco and almond paste on the very individual thrill-ride nose. On the palate, it offers up refined intensity with succulent red and black cherry, dark chocolate, pekoe and astonishing Italian vivaciousness to go along with the wine's warmth. By no means is this a shy and introverted wine, this red requires something very hearty and sassy like slow roasted meats or something with a spicy Asian influence. Also great with tomato-sauce pastas.

It isn’t very often that we offer ten-year-old Washington wines from a prolific producer and vineyard. L’Ecole No. 41 is one of Walla Walla’s grand producers and Perigee, from Seven Hills Vineyard, is one of their top Cabernet blends.
58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petite Verdot, 7% Malbec, this full-on blend is drinking exquisitely. Roasted coffee, black licorice, cigar box, snappy mineral and sandalwood and rhubarb fruit. The mouthfeel is warm, full-bodied and chock full of secondary flavors. Superb spine here to carry it even further in the cellar as well. Expands even more on the finish where it reveals the brightness of the Malbec and the structure of the Petite Verdot. We can author a novel about this wine, but it is easier to comment on how delicious it is showing. Drink this wine with a grilled steak or lamb or wait until the fall and have it with venison.

Champonnets is a Premier Cru site located just above the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, just to the north of the Grand Cru of Ruchottes-Chambertin, and before the opening of the Lavaut Valley. Philippe Cheron traded a good-sized parcel of village Nuits-St-Georges to obtain these Premier Cru vines. Old vines allot for a mere two hundred cases per year.
Wow, just Wow! Scintillating aromatics with loads of licorice and perfume. Penetrating aromas and flavors. Deep and very savory and very persistent. Prime time potential, even if it is drinking nicely even at an early stage. A steal for top Gevrey Premier Cru! Compare this to Herestyn-Mazzini’s (a producer who I really like) version of this Premier Cru at $239!
