Founded in the 15th century, Chateau Pineraie has won beaucoup awards from many serious competitions throughout France. The base of this hearty red is 85% Malbec for its deep dark quality and the rest is Merlot that brings a smooth suppleness on the palate.
Deep opaque formidable juice with wild scents of red and blue berries, plum, briar and dried mushrooms. In the mouth it is full and generous with a thoroughly likeable modern twist. Even though there is a toe in this century, this is Cahors and the flavors of its rich land permeate the pure aromas and flavors found this ancient region. The finish is long, lasting and palate staining. This is a whole lotta wine for under 20 bucks! Drink this wine now and over the next 7-8 years with hearty braised and grilled fare.

The Eguren family of Sierra Cantabria are pioneers in the production of parcel specific single cru wines from Rioja 97% Tempranillo 3% Graciano and always a great wine from one of my absolute favorite producers.
Sexy, pleasurable aromas. Toasted cinnamon, roasted herbs, red licorice, flowers and raspberries with some alluring nutmeg tones beneath. The texture is caressing, palate engaging all while being broad and rich. Gains more strawberry aspects around the edges; harmonious, harmonious and more harmonious with fine-grained structure. The finish is velvety, full and long with notations of cocoa. Unbelievably tasty now, it can be had with a plethora of meat dishes, but it will also age well, too. Drink it now through 2035.

The spiritual grape of Santorini although this comes from the northern, mountainous region of Fiorina near the borders of Albania and Macedonia. Unoaked expression from a producer known for its red wines, this white is just waiting for the Dungeness crab to come into season.
Lemongrass, peach skin, powdery citrus and woven-in floral scents roll into a texture that is intensity personified. An authoritative, succulent white wine that extends and moistens the entire palate.

Amirault’s top Bourgueil wine. From the lieu dit of Le Grand Clos. Located on the hillside above the town of Bourgueil and records revealed that the Abbey proclaimed it as Premier Cru site; it is also said that this vineyard site has spiritual qualities to it. Vintage 2020 in this area is one of the great ones.
100% Cabernet Franc. Buxom, broad but firm wine with generous raspberry and currant fruits, Asian spices, green fig, licorice and sandalwood aromas all carrying over to a texture that has richness along with a sense of buoyancy and bounce on through to a fine, long finish and great persistence. While quite fine and delicious, the wine with some cellar time should expand, and then fine, earthy complexity will join the fruit and spice mélange. Dare I say, a potentially great wine for a stunning price?? Drink over the next fifteen years.

A Walla Walla-based newcomer owned by a famed Rioja family. Columbia Valley fruit. Mostly Cab with small dollops of Merlot and Petit Verdot and powerful yet approachable.
Black cherry, red currant and blackberry fruit spun with maple, spice, tobacco and a touch of toast coming from a thoughtful use of French oak build up as soon as it is poured. Plenty of depth with the signature smoothness that Valdemar is noted for; there is abundant "silky grip" and a roundness on the palate, which carries over nicely to a lingering, well-honed finish. Will drink and develop nicely for a decade.

Sectioned off from the overlying Graves region, Pessac-Leognan was created in 1987 to highlight the finest terroirs, this prestigious Bordeaux region is home to famous luminaries like Haut-Brion or Papes Clement.
65% Semillon & 35% Sauvignon, 12 months in barriques (25% new) and only 800-1000 cases produced. Nectarine dominant along with fig, lime and vanilla arriving as it unfolds in the glass. Penetrating, full, creamy and intense with spices, old vine depth and persistency. Very brisk and luminous on the impressively long and luxurious finish. White Bordeaux from this area is very much a tradition but sadly one that is slowly disappearing. Great special price! Drink over the next decade with lobster, clam chowder or some sort of bisque, dense fish dishes with a sauce and soft-ripened, aged cheeses.

92 Points – Vinous…One of the nicest people in the wine business, it is nice Will Hamilton's wines receiving accolades and this Pinot Noir shines brightly. Aside from the five percent of fruit from First Man Vineyard in the Tualatin Hills AVA, the remainder comes from several top-drawer sites in Eola-Amity including Sojeau, Koosah and X-Omni.
Violet, plum, lavender, red licorice, kisses of tarragon and cinnamon follow through to a sultry texture with deceptive depth, poise and material. Like any superb Pinot Noir, this wine fans out nicely on the palate, extends beautifully, and sticks around. Very lovable now and can age nicely over the next 8-10 years.

This wine is a yummy, ripe, juicy ball of blackberry fruit, some smoke and peppercorn tones underneath. In the mouth it possesses a barrage of full-flavors and sweet/hot spices that make you want to do a Happy Dance...oh yeah, did we mention it is from Baja California?...yep, Mexico! Drink with a bacon cheeseburger.
Grand Cru greatness...period. It ain’t cheap but it is from a very profound, legendary Puligny-Montrachet-based producer. Large personality that always is Batard. Grand Cru depth and aromas. Sheer magnificence and persistence. If stored well will age 20-30 years and longer.
