April In Paris? Not exactly. Instead, we are referring to today as Avril en Bourgogne!!
Drop by today to taste two the new White Burgundy favorites listed above that have just recently arrived along with two flavorful Red Burgs.
St-Veran is an interesting appellation because of its combination of eight villages bordering Pouilly-Fuisse on both the north and south. What makes St-Veran special is each of the villages' distinct terroirs. Feuillarde's offering is grown from 40-year-old vines in the St-Veran village of Prisse and is expressive of its predominant Jurassic clay soils that are enhanced with sedimentary limestone.
2015 is the fifth vintage of Lucien Thomas’s delicious workhorse white wine that we have now proudly featured and we think you are going to love it! No oak is employed on this delicious white Burgundy. Superbly mouth filling and honeyed with notes of apple turnover and creme brulée that spread out from the front to the back of the palate. Plenty of tangerine notes add liveliness throughout, especially on the finish where the mineral is simply outstanding. Drink now through 2020 with grilled white fish like sea bass or sole. There is also plenty of oomph to go with salmon although the impending wine below is even better. This fabulous French Chardonnay will pair nicely with a cheeses like Chevre or Brillat Savarin.

Chardonnay from the Macon region doesn’t get much better than this! From the steepest portion Domaine Feuillarde's holdings, the Maison Rouge Cuvee is from 70-year-old vines aged predominately in stainless steel with a small portion in oak (none new) to bring forth dimension and depth.
Upon first smelling this fabulous White Burgundy, one instantaneously grasps its true density and prominence. Vinous, poised and proper fragrances of nectarine, cream, well-focused flint, saline and just an ever so gentle touch of spice. Quite prestigious in the mouth, this wine coats the palate with its full-flavors and sweeps it clean with sterling, livewire mineral acids on the saturated, chiming finish. Superlative St-Veran that sticks around beautifully and will drink well for 7-9 years with roasted chicken, scallops done in a meuniere sauce and especially grilled salmon done on an alder plank.

Along with delivering very fine white wines, Domaine Chapuis is very sure-handed with their red wines as well. This red also comes from the Maconnais region, specifically Macon-Mancey. A personable red that one doesn’t have to grapple with, it really falls into our mantra of don’t think, just drink - a lot!!!
Fragrance personified, bursting cherry, plum, black pepper and underlying rose petal lift from the glass and follow through to a lively texture that is full of zip and defined fruit and sneaky volume and length. A perfect airy and unheavy red for spring and summer slamming with a bunch of friends sharing a plate of charcuterie.

The village of Chassagne-Montrachet is home to some of the greatest white wines in the world; however, 40% of the wine that emerges from these vineyards is red and made from Pinot Noir. Many of you have consumed numerous bottles of Laurent Pillot’s top-level white and red wines over the many years that we have featured them. I have been asking to score some of this fabulous Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge and finally, Laurent has allotted us some and we are over the moon excited to offer it and even more thrilled to share some tastes with those who come in this afternoon!!
Harvested from four small plots planted between 1959 and 1969 and aged in 20% new oak, this miniscule production red wine is a hair-raising Burgundy and Cotes-de-Beaune value. If an emoji could come across everyone’s screen to illustrate this wine, it would be one of a cherry. Undercurrents of peppercorn, nutmeg and licorice, there is not a mean bone in this wine’s makeup. Vinous from the old vines, very tasteful and fanning out on the palate, this wine extends, persists and is charming, enticing and scrumptious. A second taste reveals more structure and Cotes-de-Beaune brightness. Gorgeous to drink now and over the next 7-10 years.
