Anytime we head into a holiday weekend we uncork fun and delicious stuff! Drop by today for a line-up of diverse pleasure including our first 2015 Rose selection of the year!
Domaine de Fontsainte is a dynamite Corbieres producer and as soon as this wine arrives, it seemingly is an announcement that spring and summer will imminently arrive. The newest arrival of the Gris de Gris is dominated by Grenache Gris, which is prized for its ability to maintain freshness while keeping depth. Blended in for further enhancement are small portions of Grenache Noir, Mourvedre, Carignan and Cinsault all taking form and working together to make a rose wine that is as superb as ever!
Fresh notes of strawberry and red currant along with scents of quinine, Mediterranean herbs blitz from the glass and carries over to a texture that really makes your mouth water, with fine fruit, silky texture, and thirst-quenching acidity. This goes down way too easily, so stock up, because nothing is better than a bottle or six of the pink stuff!

Located in the southwestern portion of the Brunello di Montalcino zone and due to a long-standing direct relationship, Caprili's Rosso is always a steal! Seductive, suave and packed with lots of Sangiovese depth and personality.
Full on, fragrant savory aromas leap from the glass offering up violet, red berry, sage and underbrush aromas. Classy throughout with depth and personality in the mouth along with Caprili’s telltale smoothness, Italian tanginess arrives on the nicely formed finish that is full of snap and extension. This delicious red is everything that one should love about drinking fine Tuscan wines!

Made entirely from fruit from Ayres Vineyard and named for the road that is adjacent, the 2014 really speaks of the site and voluptuous qualities that are very much indicators of the Ribbon Ridge appellation.
One of the most purely delicious 2014s that we have tasted, this one is a seriously supple Oregon Pinot Noir that does not rely on a bunch of new oak flavorings. Waves of cherry blossom, lavender, black plum and fresh-turned earth/spice billow from the glass and fill your senses; the structure is refined, rich yet maintaining elegance with a drawn-out, warm finish. Enjoy over the next decade.

This is the epitome of the definition of comeback. Clefs D’Or was a dynamic and profound Chateauneuf-du-Pape estate in the 70s and 80s. For some reason in the nineties and early 2000s, this place seemed to be wandering aimlessly in the wilderness and made wines that reflected this, nice but nothing that would get you off the chair. A new focus came about led by a new generation and this estate came roaring back to life.
2009 is a warm and generous vintage and this wine reflect that, however at almost 7 years, it is starting to put forth some excellent secondary notes. Coming from two famed lieu dit in CnDP (Crau and Piedlong – Vieux Telegraphe has holdings in both). 65% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah and the rest a field blend of Cinsault, Muscardin, Counoise and Vaccarese. Amorous, vivacious and time-honored Chateauneuf aromas prevail from the moment it is poured. Aromatic tea-smoke, rose, cherry-pit, licorice, white pepper and rhubarb shimmer and then follow through to a velvety, well-sculpted, smoothed-out texture that extends and persists. Very lovely at age seven and it will continue to drink beautifully for another 4-6 years. A real steal to have such a wine from well-regarded producer who has really risen up again. 4 cases available!
